What is a skyscraper puzzle?

A skyscraper puzzle, also called towers, is a Latin-square logic puzzle — not inherently a daily game. You fill an n×n grid with building heights so each row and column uses every height from 1 to n exactly once. Numbers on the edges are visibility clues: each number is how many rooftops you can see looking into that row or column, because a taller building hides any shorter building behind it. Daily Skyline is a free iOS daily of that classic: a 5×5 board with heights 1 through 5. Each calendar day produces one deterministic puzzle — the same skyline for every player worldwide — not a random endless pack. If a clue is 1, the nearest cell must be height 5, since only the tallest building can be the single visible rooftop. If a clue is 5 on a 5×5 board, heights must rise in looking order so every building peeks over the ones in front. There is no account and no ads; progress stays on the device. Players looking for a Sudoku alternative get Latin-square constraints plus visibility clues instead of cages or blocks.

How it works

A daily logic puzzle for fans of Sudoku and KenKen — skyscraper (towers) sightlines on a 5×5 Latin square, one board that resets with the calendar.

Each day’s 5×5 board is generated once, checked for a unique solution, then locked for that calendar date so every player sees the same puzzle.

  1. Read the edge clues

Each number shows how many buildings you can see from that side — taller ones hide what's behind.

  2. Place heights 1–5

Fill the 5×5 grid like a Latin square: each row and column uses every height once.

  3. Solve today’s skyline

One deterministic puzzle per calendar day. Keep your streak — climb the leaderboards.

Edge numbers are how many buildings you can see. Place heights 1–3 so each row and column uses every height once. This is a tiny demo — the real board is 5×5.

Daily skyscraper puzzle FAQ

Short answers about this daily skyscraper puzzle. More on the support & FAQ page.

What is a skyscraper puzzle?
A skyscraper puzzle (also called towers) is a Latin-square logic puzzle, not a daily format by itself. You place building heights so each row and column uses every height once; edge numbers count visible rooftops. Daily Skyline is the free 5×5 iOS daily of that classic.
Is a towers puzzle the same as a skyscraper puzzle?
Yes. Towers and skyscrapers are the same visibility puzzle. Daily Skyline is a 5×5 daily version for iPhone.
Is today's puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. Daily Skyline gives every player the same 5×5 board for that calendar day. It is a shared daily logic puzzle, not a random endless level pack.
Can I play in the browser?
There is a sample Easy 5×5 on this site. It is not today’s shared daily, and it does not keep a streak. The daily puzzle is free on iOS.
Is Daily Skyline free?
Yes. The iOS app is free on the App Store. There are no ads and no account. Progress, streak, and Skyline Points stay on your device.
