Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Daily Skyline ("we," "us," or "the App") handles information when you use the Daily Skyline mobile application and related services, including this website (dailyskyline.muratoncu.com).
Daily Skyline is a daily logic puzzle game. We designed it so you can play without creating an account. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you as Apple defines tracking (linking data from the App with third-party data for advertising, or sharing data with a data broker).
1. Who we are
Daily Skyline is operated by Murat Hüdavendigar Öncü. Learn more on our About page. Contact for privacy questions: dailyskyline@muratoncu.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App and website, we may process:
Progress stored on your device
Puzzle progress, streaks, stats, difficulty preferences, and similar gameplay data are stored locally on your device (for example in on-device storage). This data is not transmitted to our servers as part of normal play. We do not require an account for this. If you delete the App or clear its data, this local progress may be lost unless you use a platform feature that preserves it (for example, a device backup).
Anonymous global solve stats (Supabase)
When you complete a puzzle, the App sends a limited, anonymous gameplay record to our backend hosted on Supabase (via an RPC such as "record_anonymous_solve") so we can show community features like how many players solved today or percentile-style comparisons. This is part of the App's core functionality — there is no separate opt-in toggle.
That record may include:
- Puzzle date
- Difficulty
- Solve time
- Hints used
- Mistakes
- Whether the solve was perfect
- Platform (for example iOS, Android, or web)
- Whether the solve was for today's daily puzzle or an archive replay
It does not include your name, email, Apple ID, Game Center player ID, account ID, advertising identifier, or hardware serial. We do not use these stats to identify you, advertise to you, or combine them with third-party data for advertising. The public "players solved today" counter only counts daily puzzle completions; archive replays may be stored for aggregate analytics but do not inflate that counter.
Skyline Points ranking (anonymous install token)
To show how your Skyline Points rating compares to other players (a "Top %" style ranking), the App stores a random install token on your device and sends it with your latest rating to Supabase. The token is a UUID we generate — not your Apple ID, Game Center ID, advertising identifier, or hardware ID. We use it only so one install has one rating in the pool (instead of counting the same device many times). Uninstalling the App or clearing its data generates a new token.
Game Center (optional)
If you choose to use Apple Game Center for leaderboards or achievements, related data is handled by Apple's GameKit under Apple's privacy policy and your Game Center settings. Daily Skyline does not store or transmit your Game Center identity, player ID, or profile to our own servers. You can leave Game Center or limit sharing in iOS Settings.
Local reminders (optional)
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device only. That can include a daily puzzle reminder (the hour can follow when you usually play, unless you set it yourself) and a later last-call reminder if today is still unsolved, your streak is alive, and you have no Streak Freeze left. We do not register a push token with our servers, and reminder scheduling does not send notification content to us. You can turn reminders off anytime in system or in-app settings.
Anonymous app signals (Supabase)
To understand whether optional features are working, without identifying you, the App may send small anonymous signals to our Supabase backend. This is part of the App's core functionality. There is no separate opt-in toggle.
- Once per install: whether you granted or denied the notification permission prompt, whether Game Center authentication succeeded, and whether the native App Store review prompt was shown
- Each time it happens: whether a Streak Freeze covered a missed day (a count of freeze spends, not a device identifier)
Each signal is just a type, a date, and a platform (for example iOS). Never a push token, your Game Center identity, the content of a notification, or whether you actually left a review (Apple does not expose that to developers). These signals are not linked to your Apple ID, advertising identifier, or Game Center profile, and we do not use them for advertising.
Website waitlist
The public site now links to the live App Store listing. If you previously joined the launch waitlist, we still hold the email address you submitted so we can send related product updates. We store it with our hosting database provider (Supabase) for that purpose only. We do not sell waitlist emails or use them for unrelated marketing. You can ask us to remove your address anytime by emailing dailyskyline@muratoncu.com.
Feedback you send us
If you email us or submit optional in-app feedback, we receive the content you provide (and standard email metadata such as your address). We use this only to respond and improve the App.
Website visits
Our website host may collect standard server logs (for example, IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
3. How we use information
- To run the game and remember your local progress
- To compute and show anonymous community solve stats (via Supabase) as part of the App
- To show anonymous Skyline Points ranking against other installs
- To understand anonymous, aggregate rates for notification permission, Game Center, review prompts, and Streak Freeze use so we can improve those features
- To support optional Game Center competition (through Apple GameKit)
- To schedule optional local reminders you request (daily and last-call)
- To email existing waitlist subscribers about product updates, if you previously signed up
- To respond to support and feedback
- To keep the App and website secure and operational
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information
- We do not track users for advertising (no linking App data with third-party data for ads; no sharing with data brokers)
- We do not use advertising SDKs, attribution trackers, or similar tracking SDKs in the App
- We do not show third-party ads in the App (if that changes, we will update this policy)
- We do not require an account to play the free version of the App
5. Sharing
We share information only when needed to provide the service:
- Apple — App Store distribution and optional Game Center (GameKit). Reminder notifications are local to your device and are not delivered through a Daily Skyline push server.
- Supabase — hosts anonymous solve stats, Skyline Points ratings, anonymous app signals, and the website waitlist database, under agreements that limit use to providing the service
- Website hosting — may process standard server logs for security and reliability
- Legal — if required by law or to protect users and the App
6. Retention
Local progress stays on your device until you clear it or remove the App. Anonymous aggregate stats, Skyline Points ratings, and app signals on Supabase are retained only as long as useful for those community and product features. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or until we no longer need them for launch communication. Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business records.
7. Children
Daily Skyline is a general-audience puzzle game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts or marketing. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices
- Play without creating an account
- Decline or disable local reminder notifications
- Use or skip Game Center
- Clear app data or uninstall to remove local progress
- Ask us to delete your waitlist email if you signed up on the website
- Contact dailyskyline@muratoncu.com for privacy requests
9. Future features
We may later add optional accounts, cloud sync, Pro / in-app purchases, Android builds, or additional analytics needed to run the product safely. Account and cloud-sync features are not active in the current App release. If we enable them or change data practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for fresh consent or explain new choices in the App.
10. International users
The App and website may be operated from servers in different regions (including infrastructure provided by Supabase and our website host). By using the service, you understand that information may be processed where we or our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
