Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Daily Skyline ("we," "us," or "the App") handles information when you use the Daily Skyline mobile application and related services, including this website (dailyskyline.muratoncu.com).

Daily Skyline is a daily logic puzzle game available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). We designed it so you can play without signing up with an email or password. If you take part in the global leaderboard (app version 1.29 and later), the App creates an anonymous board account automatically; it has no email, password or real name. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you as Apple defines tracking (linking data from the App with third-party data for advertising, or sharing data with a data broker).

1. Who we are

Daily Skyline is operated by Murat Hüdavendigar Öncü. Learn more on our About page. Contact for privacy questions: dailyskyline@muratoncu.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App and website, we may process:

Progress stored on your device

Puzzle progress, streaks, stats, difficulty preferences, and similar gameplay data are stored locally on your device (for example in on-device storage). Local progress is not sent to our servers for ordinary play. If you take part in the global leaderboard (app version 1.29 and later), related daily results and board data are also sent to our servers as described under "Global leaderboard" below. We do not require a sign-up account for local progress. If you delete the App or clear its data, this local progress may be lost unless you use a platform feature that preserves it (for example, a device backup).

Anonymous global solve stats (Supabase)

When you complete a puzzle, the App sends a limited, anonymous gameplay record to our backend hosted on Supabase (via an RPC such as "record_anonymous_solve") so we can show community features like how many players solved today or percentile-style comparisons. This is part of the App's core functionality — there is no separate opt-in toggle.

That record may include:

  • Puzzle date
  • Difficulty
  • Solve time
  • Hints used
  • Mistakes
  • Whether the solve was perfect
  • Platform (for example iOS, Android, or web)
  • Whether the solve was for today's daily puzzle or an archive replay

It does not include your name, email, Apple ID, Game Center player ID, account ID, advertising identifier, or hardware serial. We do not use these stats to identify you, advertise to you, or combine them with third-party data for advertising. The public "players solved today" counter only counts daily puzzle completions; archive replays may be stored for aggregate analytics but do not inflate that counter.

Skyline Points ranking (anonymous install token)

To show how your Skyline Points rating compares to other players (a "Top %" style ranking), the App stores a random install token on your device and sends it with your latest rating to Supabase. The token is a UUID we generate — not your Apple ID, Game Center ID, advertising identifier, or hardware ID. We use it only so one install has one rating in the pool (instead of counting the same device many times). Uninstalling the App or clearing its data generates a new token.

Anonymous retention events (Supabase)

To measure how the game retains players in aggregate — without identifying you — the App may send coarse retention funnel events to Supabase (via an RPC such as "record_retention_event"). This is part of the App's core functionality. There is no separate opt-in toggle.

An event may include:

  • A random install token (the same style of app-generated UUID used for Skyline Points ranking — not an Apple ID or advertising ID)
  • A coarse event name such as first open, app open, puzzle started, puzzle solved, puzzle failed, onboarding finished or skipped, guided-intro steps, paywall viewed, or a Pro purchase attempt, cancel, failure, or restore (including one-time "first" variants where relevant)
  • Calendar day of the event
  • Optional difficulty (easy, medium, hard, or expert)
  • Platform (for example iOS, Android, or web)
  • Optional app release label (for example "1.28.0") so we can tell which build sent the event — not a device or account id

Events are de-duplicated on device (for example, at most one "app open" per day per install for recurring events). We do not send puzzle moves, screen-by-screen analytics, timestamps beyond the calendar day, your name, email, Apple ID, Game Center identity, or advertising identifier. We use these events only for aggregate retention measurement and product improvement — not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Game Center and Google Play Games (optional)

If you choose to use Apple Game Center for leaderboards or achievements, related data is handled by Apple's GameKit under Apple's privacy policy and your Game Center settings. Daily Skyline does not store or transmit your Game Center identity, player ID, or profile to our own servers. You can leave Game Center or limit sharing in iOS Settings. If you sign in to Google Play Games, your scores and achievements are sent to Google Play Games under your Play Games profile.

Local reminders (optional)

If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device only. That can include a daily puzzle reminder (the hour can follow when you usually play, unless you set it yourself), a later last-call reminder if today is still unsolved, your streak is alive, and you have no Streak Freeze left, a Peak Day reminder, a win-back reminder if you have not opened the App for several days, and a local notice when a free Pro promotion starts, is about to end, or has ended. We do not register a push token with our servers, and reminder scheduling does not send notification content to us. You can turn reminders off anytime in system or in-app settings.

Anonymous app signals (Supabase)

To understand whether optional features are working, without identifying you, the App may send small anonymous signals to our Supabase backend. This is part of the App's core functionality. There is no separate opt-in toggle.

  • Once per install: whether you granted or denied the notification permission prompt, whether Game Center authentication succeeded, and whether the native App Store review prompt was shown
  • Each time it happens: whether a Streak Freeze covered a missed day (a count of freeze spends, not a device identifier)

Each signal is just a type, a date, and a platform (for example iOS or Android). Never a push token, your Game Center identity, the content of a notification, or whether you actually left a review (Apple does not expose that to developers). These signals are not linked to your Apple ID, advertising identifier, or Game Center profile, and we do not use them for advertising.

Daily Skyline Pro (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat)

Daily Skyline Pro is an optional paid upgrade. You can buy a yearly auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details. You do not need a Daily Skyline account to buy or use Pro.

Apple or Google processes the payment under your store account. To tell whether this install has Pro, the App uses RevenueCat (revenuecat.com), a service provider that verifies purchases and tells the App whether Pro is active. RevenueCat may receive:

  • An anonymous app user ID generated on the device — not your Apple ID, Google account, email, Game Center ID, or advertising identifier
  • Which product you bought (yearly or lifetime)
  • Whether Pro is active, and, for the yearly plan, when that period ends
  • The purchase receipt Apple or Google provides, so the entitlement can be verified and restored

We use this only to unlock, restore, or remove Pro on your device. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not receive or store your Apple ID, Google account, or payment card number. Restore Purchases checks the store account on the device through Apple or Google and RevenueCat.

Anonymous purchase records (Supabase)

When a new Pro purchase completes, the App also sends a limited record to Supabase (via an RPC such as "record_purchase_event") so we can understand sales. Restoring a purchase you already own does not create another record. The record is linked to the anonymous install token, not to your name.

That record may include:

  • The same random install token used for retention events — not your Apple ID, Google account, email, or advertising identifier
  • Product identifier and plan (yearly or lifetime)
  • The price and currency shown for that purchase
  • Whether it was a free trial or an introductory offer
  • Platform (for example iOS or Android)

It does not include your name, email, Apple ID, Google account, or payment card number. We use it to see which plans sold, in aggregate. We do not use it for advertising.

Promo codes

If you redeem a Pro code, the App creates an anonymous account on our backend (Supabase) so the code can be counted once per user. That anonymous account has no email, password, or name, and it is not a Daily Skyline login or cloud sync. We record which code was used against that anonymous session ID, and we store the resulting Pro grant on your device. Clearing the App's data or reinstalling starts a new anonymous session.

In-app inbox

The App can download short messages we publish, such as news, tips, or an occasional promo. Which messages you have opened or removed stays on your device.

The App may also send an anonymous count to Supabase (via an RPC such as "record_inbox_event") when a message is delivered, opened, its button is tapped, or it is removed. That count is tied to the message, not to your install token. It does not include what you wrote, your name, or email. We use these counts to see whether a message was read.

Crash reports (Sentry)

When the App crashes or hits an unexpected error, a crash report is sent to Sentry (sentry.io), a service provider that processes it for us so we can fix failures. A report contains technical details: a stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, the App screen that was open, and the time of the error. It does not include a name, email, or IP address we use to identify you. We do not attach your Apple ID, Google account, or advertising identifier. We do not turn on performance tracing, and we do not label reports with a user profile. These reports are not used for advertising. Local development builds do not send them.

Website waitlist

The public site now links to the live App Store listing. If you previously joined the launch waitlist, we still hold the email address you submitted so we can send related product updates. We store it with our hosting database provider (Supabase) for that purpose only. We do not sell waitlist emails or use them for unrelated marketing. You can ask us to remove your address anytime by emailing dailyskyline@muratoncu.com.

Feedback you send us

If you send feedback from the App, we store the message and its category. Do not include personal information you do not want us to have. If you email us, we also receive standard email metadata such as your address. We use feedback only to respond and improve the App.

Website visits

Our website host may collect standard server logs (for example, IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and clicks on store and beta links. It uses no cookies, does not identify you across sites, and reports only aggregate numbers such as page, referrer, country, and device type. Invite codes are removed from page addresses before they are counted. We do not run advertising trackers on this site. Your language choice on this site is kept in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and is not sent to us. This site sets no cookies for visitors. We also use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how fast pages load (for example, load and response times), with the same cookieless, aggregate approach.

Global leaderboard (app version 1.29 and later)

The App has a leaderboard that compares players across iPhone and Android. When you first take part (by solving a daily puzzle, or by opening the leaderboard), the App creates an anonymous account on our backend (Supabase). It has no email, password or real name, and it is not linked to your Apple ID, Google account, Game Center or Play Games profile.

For the leaderboard we store:

  • A board name. You get a random name such as "Swift Spire 482". You can change it (3 to 20 characters) or hide yourself from the board in Profile.
  • A random public ID, so other players can see your rows without seeing your account ID.
  • Your platform (iOS or Android).
  • Daily puzzle results: the date, the difficulty, your solve time, how many hints you used and whether Auto Notes was on.
  • Your current and best streak, and the date of your last solve.
  • Your Skyline Points (the overall rating shown in the App).
  • Reports: if you report a name, or someone reports yours, we store who reported whom, the reported name and when it happened, so we can review it.

3. How we use information

  • To run the game and remember your local progress
  • To compute and show anonymous community solve stats (via Supabase) as part of the App
  • To show anonymous Skyline Points ranking against other installs
  • To measure anonymous, aggregate retention (open / start / solve / fail funnel) so we can improve the product
  • To understand anonymous, aggregate rates for notification permission, Game Center, review prompts, and Streak Freeze use so we can improve those features
  • To support optional Game Center competition (through Apple GameKit)
  • To schedule optional local reminders you request
  • To provide, restore, and expire optional Daily Skyline Pro purchases
  • To record anonymous Pro purchase totals, including plan, price, and currency
  • To validate optional Pro promo codes
  • To count, in aggregate, whether an in-app message was delivered, opened, tapped, or removed
  • To diagnose crashes and errors in production builds
  • To email existing waitlist subscribers about product updates, if you previously signed up
  • To respond to support and feedback
  • To keep the App and website secure and operational
  • To show the leaderboards, to keep them fair (for example, ignoring times that are too fast to be real) and to review reported names.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information
  • We do not track users for advertising (no linking App data with third-party data for ads; no sharing with data brokers)
  • We do not use advertising SDKs, attribution trackers, or similar tracking SDKs in the App
  • We do not show third-party ads in the App (if that changes, we will update this policy)
  • We do not require you to sign up with an email or password to play the free version of the App (an anonymous board account may be created automatically for the global leaderboard)
  • We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising ID, your real name, email, or browsing history to play. (The global leaderboard uses a separate board name you can change; see section 2.)

5. Sharing

We share information only when needed to provide the service:

  • Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and subscriptions (StoreKit), and optional Game Center (GameKit). Reminder notifications are local to your device and are not delivered through a Daily Skyline push server. We do not receive your Apple ID or card details.
  • Google — Google Play distribution and in-app purchases and subscriptions. We do not receive your Google account or card details.
  • RevenueCat — processes anonymous purchase and entitlement data so Pro can be granted, restored, or removed. None of our service providers use this data for advertising.
  • Sentry — receives anonymous crash and error reports from production builds. Not used for advertising.
  • Supabase — hosts our database and backend: anonymous solve stats, Skyline Points ratings, coarse retention events, anonymous app signals, anonymous Pro purchase records, aggregate in-app message counts, anonymous promo-code sessions when you redeem a code, in-app feedback messages, the website waitlist database, and (app version 1.29 and later) global leaderboard data — anonymous board accounts, board names, daily puzzle results, streaks, Skyline Points on the board, and name reports — under agreements that limit use to providing the service. Not used for advertising.
  • Website hosting (Vercel) — may process standard server logs for security and reliability, and provides cookieless, aggregate website analytics
  • Legal — if required by law or to protect users and the App

Other players. If you take part in the leaderboard, other players can see your board name, your times and places on the daily boards, your Skyline Points and your streak. They cannot see your account ID, your device or anything else about you. If you turn on "Hide me from the board" in Profile, you no longer appear to other players.

Data we send to our service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

6. Retention

Local progress stays on your device until you clear it or remove the App. Deleting the App removes all progress stored on the device. Anonymous aggregate stats, Skyline Points ratings, retention events, and app signals on Supabase are retained only as long as useful for those community and product features. Anonymous Pro purchase records and in-app message counts on Supabase are kept as long as useful for those product totals. Purchase and entitlement records are also kept by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their policies for as long as needed to provide and restore Pro. Anonymous promo-code sessions are kept so a code's use can be counted. Crash reports are kept by Sentry only as long as useful to diagnose problems. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or until we no longer need them for launch communication. Support emails and in-app feedback are kept as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business records.

Most App data we hold is anonymous and not linked to a person, so we cannot look it up by email. If you take part in the leaderboard, we can look for your board data by your board name when you ask us to delete it. Questions: dailyskyline@muratoncu.com.

Daily puzzle results are deleted automatically after 90 days, and reports 180 days after they are reviewed. Your board name, streak and Skyline Points are kept until you delete them. You can delete everything at any time in the App (Profile, "Delete my board data"); this removes your board name, all your results, your streak and points, and every report made by or about you. Deleting the App alone does not delete it, because the App can no longer prove the anonymous account is yours. In that case, contact us with your board name and we will delete it.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. Daily Skyline is a general-audience puzzle game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts or marketing. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices

  • Play without signing up with an email or password
  • Decline or disable local reminder notifications
  • Use or skip Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android)
  • Play the free version without buying Pro
  • Restore a purchase in the App, or manage or cancel a yearly subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings
  • Skip promo codes
  • Clear app data or uninstall to remove local progress stored on the device
  • Ask us to delete your waitlist email if you signed up on the website
  • Contact dailyskyline@muratoncu.com for privacy requests
  • Leaderboard: change your board name, hide yourself from the board, or delete all your board data in Profile.
  • Report a name: long-press a row on any board, then "Report name" or "Block".

9. Future features

Optional sign-in accounts and cloud sync of your full progress are not active in the current App release. The global leaderboard (app version 1.29 and later) uses an automatic anonymous board account as described in section 2. If we enable optional sign-in or cloud sync, or if we change how the App handles information, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for fresh consent or explain new choices in the App.

10. International users

The App and website may be operated from servers in different regions (including infrastructure provided by Supabase, RevenueCat, Sentry, and our website host). By using the service, you understand that information may be processed where we or our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
